I’m excited to share a special story, not only because it captures the essence of our community but also because it marks my first-ever article, beginning with the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful new family who had just moved to Arizona and did not know many friends here. They were part of a community WhatsApp meetup group and decided to graciously invite us all to their home for Ganpati Darshan. A few families in the area, who also happen to be some of the most amazing people I know, agreed to join and make it a beautiful evening for the host family.
Although Preiti and her family were new to all of us, they made everyone feel as if we had known each other for years. Their three sweet children and the family’s joyful energy added even more charm to the evening. What started as a first meeting quickly felt like a reunion of long-lost family. Their warm hospitality reminded us of the incredible power of friendship and tradition.
As I reflect on that night, I feel hopeful and excited about the future. Preiti shared that back in Mumbai, they used to host gatherings with over 200 people during Ganpati celebrations. We have a special wish for next year: to honor Preiti and her family by making Ganpati Darshan even bigger, with the goal of gathering over 200 people to recreate the vibrant celebrations they were accustomed to in Mumbai.
This may seem like a small story of connection and celebration, but I believe it’s important to share. You never know what a little human touch can mean to someone adjusting to a new life. Let’s come together, embrace our traditions, and strengthen the bonds of our community as we look forward to an even more memorable celebration next year.
This story also serves as a reminder that moving to a new city or country can be challenging, and as a community, it’s essential for us to extend our support and kindness to one another.
